Actually, I’m blessed to still have my 80-something year old mom alive and doing well who has been such a help with identifying family members in photos. I think what makes this photo special to my mom is that her mom died when she was just 2-yrs old. So she never knew her mom personally and has had to rely on photos like this one of her to relate family memories and stories to. But like you, I have lots of photos that my mom cannot identify too (such as the woman in this photo with her mom).
