July 24th in the United States is the perfect day to send some love to those family members we call cousins.
One of the joys of genealogical research is finding family. So I cannot begin to tell you how excited I was to find my beloved cousin, Cecelia Cook Drew, online on June 22, 2013. That was the day we learned that our great-grandfathers (William Massey Chappelle & Charles Louis Chappell) were brothers. And though we never knew each other as children and as little girl cousins, those who see us together today, think we’ve known each other all our lives.
Whether close cousins or distant cousins, friends or foes, those of us who are lucky enough to still have cousins around should think about celebrating them today.
