Liv

I’m Liv Taylor-Harris, the Genealogy Hobbyist and host here at Claiming Kin! I’ve been hooked on “all things genealogy” ever since my son, who’s married with children of his own, brought home an ancestral chart to complete for his “All About Me” project in third grade (1989). Completing that chart wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. But it was exactly the motivation I needed to learn more about my family and do all I can to preserve our history for future generations!

My family research is a labor of love and well worth the weekend trips to ancestral places around Texas; not to mention the hours spent in old courthouse basements looking through hundreds of records for clues and any information I can find about my ancestors. And despite some of the challenges I face researching my African /African-American Ancestry, my genealogical journey has been a rewarding one. My success with my genealogy so far has been due to my affiliation and association with various genealogy groups and professional organizations online and offline.

I want very much to share my family history journey with you. If this is your first time here, please visit my “New Here?” page for samples of the type of information you’ll find here.

If this is not your first time here, THANK YOU so much for your return visit and continued support! If you’re family, consider staying in touch with me by clicking on one of these social media icons — Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, or Flickr.

If you feel we have a family connection –
let me hear from you because . . . I’m Claiming Kin!
