I absolutely LOVE surprises! So I cannot tell you how surprised I was to log online today to learn that I’ve been nominated — not once, not twice, but three times — for the Wonderful Team Member Readership Award by Mariann Regan at Into the Briar Patch: A Family Memoir (click to read Mariann’s nomination) by Cheri Hudson Passey at Carolina Girl Genealogy (click to read Cheri’s nomination) and by Debra Newton-Carter at In Black and White: Cross Cultural Genealogy (click to read Debra’s nomination) . . . woo-hoo!
I’ve never heard of this award before. But what I’ve learned about it from visiting Jana’s Genealogy and Family History Blog (she is a recipient of this award as well) is that the creator of the award said,
As bloggers, we are also readers. That is a part of blogging as listening is a part of speaking.”
I’m honored to receive this award from two WONDERFUL geneabloggers who in my opinion . . . ROCK! Mariann, Cheri, and Debra THANK YOU so much for nominating me; I truly appreciate you and this online connection I have with you!
Recipients of this award are expected to “pay the honor forward. So here are the award guidelines . . .
(i) Don’t forget to thank the nominator and link back to their site as well;
(ii) Display the award logo on your blog;
(iii) Nominate no more than fourteen readers of your blog you appreciate and leave a comment on their blogs to let them know about the award;
(iv) Finish this sentence: “A great reader is…”
Oh . . . how I wish I could nominate ALL of the readers who have stopped by and interacted with me here. But if I did, my nominations would go beyond the 14 reader max limit this award has outlined above – LOL!
So my 4 nominees below are some fierce and exciting family historians who I have enjoyed following along since I launched my blog 2 years ago!
((((((((((DRUM ROLL PLEASE!))))))))))
Dee @ Shakin’ the Family Tree: A Never Ending Journey
Kristin @ Finding Eliza: The Story of My Family – Past and Present
Robyn @ Reclaiming Kin: Taking Back What Was Once Lost
Shellye @ My Genealogical Journey: Danish West Indies Family History
Last, but certainly not least, I must finish this sentence – A great reader is . . .
A great reader is someone who reads with the expectation of enlightenment and who knows how to respond honestly and thoughtfully to the blogger and about the blogger’s message!
